Foreign English
As the international language, English has become a necessary tool for individuals who want to succeed and stay connected to the global community. Residents of countries that do not speak English are motivated to learn the language abroad or from foreign teachers. As the learner or the instructor, you will have to prepare yourself not only for the lessons, but for the change in environment and the influence of a different culture as well.
One way to ready yourself is to find out important facts of your future home. What will the weather be when getting to the school of your choice? What seasons exist within the year? What is the currency and what is its equivalent to your own bill? How far is your school from the lodging? How can you get to your living quarters when you arrive at the airport? What is the general standard of living? These information will give you a head start on how much and what kind of clothes to bring, how much money you have to prepare for your trip and for the first few days, the requirements to extend your stay, and what services and materials will be available there to help you with your English course.
In addition, learning about the culture, the locale and the way of life in your new community will help you adjust to the culture shock faster. Studying common greetings and helpful phrases is a big plus as well. Wherever you might be going, what is most important is to maximise your English experience by exposing yourself to the culture, and through activities that will enhance your skills outside the classroom.
